5 Favorite Natural Beauty Products For Mothers

I used to be quite content with drugstore beauty products.  It was only when I grew pregnant with Bodie that I began caring about the labels on creams and blushes I was slathering on.  Now that he's very much here and playing with my brushes and tubes as I get ready, I'm more strictly cleaning out my drawers of anything that could pose a risk to him.  It seems it's on a lot of our minds as the bigger clean beauty brands circulate their research.  I asked our Instagram following of smart mothers about their favorite products to care and brighten our sometimes tired skin while staying safe from toxins.

Thanks to all of you who shared your routines - it made me wish we could get together over wine and do a show and tell.  For now, I'm pulling out the ones that came up over and over again from you.

BeautyCounter was a crowd favorite with lots of mentions of specific products in the line.  For dewy skin, two product reps who are part of the MU community, recommended the No. 1 Brightening facial oil to add to the Dew Skin or Tint Skin Moisturizer, which both offer light coverage.

Vintner's Daughter has one product that was enough to make it a cult favorite.  According to the mothers who swear by it, the price pays off for a visible difference in skin texture and brightness that lets you go make up free.

RMS Beauty is beloved by our mothers for makeup.  The top jar is the living luminizer that everyone suggest dabbing over moisturizer for a little pep.  The buriti bronzer, in the pot below, was called out for natural, smooth color.

I think lips are probably the easiest pick me up when you're running out with the kids.  While some moms also mentioned RMS and BeautyCounter for lip conditioning, I appreciated the introduction to Henné.  It's an organic line of conditioning products including this 100% natural balm and if you're wanting to take extra care, a pretty rose lip exfoliant.

There was a lot of love for locally made lines committed to organic small-batch products.  Each of these lines is made by women, often first in their kitchens, tested on themselves and their kids and then grown with a commitment to the best ingredients.  Our mothers suggest Clary CollectionAisling Organics, Province Apothecary.

Other specific quality skincare recommendations were Live Live & Organic Bee Yummy Skinfood, Badger Rose OilSanitas Vita-Rich serum, Deciem's caffeine solution for eyes and Modere AU skin brightener.
