6 Brands I Love For This Lifestage
I used to shop quite a bit before marriage and motherhood. You have time and your own money and for the most part, no one else to spend both of those precious things on. I don't remember the last time I popped into a store to browse aimlessly. Every major magazine says your 30s and 40s are about investing in timeless pieces but as mothers in that age bracket, I find myself and friends being much more thoughtful about how we spend resources and embracing simplicity. Now, I either stock up on basics before a season, replace things like shoes or wallets that have gotten worn or go in-store only for something special for events. Not counting maternity and intimates, I have 6 go to shops and sites that feel quality without being excessive. Each of these is a bit more understated and playful, with quality structure and shapes (slouchy and slimming, my favorites) and good sales.
1. Club Monaco for subtly trendy pieces for dressy occasions.
2. Loeffler Randall for sweet shoes.
3. Clare Vivier for pouches and fun things.
4. Cuyana for high quality leather bags and wallets.
5. Zara for everything.
6. Citizens of Humanity for all my mom jeans.
