MU Picked · Gifts To Show Yourself Some Love
Liz Yingst and I were talking about Valentine's Day plans and she brought up the idea of using it as an excuse to show yourself some love. Liz, previously the Director of Buying at Valentino and now a mother and stylist, stepped in as a guest style editor to round up last week's MU·Picked. Given her incredible taste that's balanced with sensibility, I asked her to compile her own self-care list that could afford us a bit of a pick me up in this last stretch of the cold season. She kept an eye on small items that offer some TLC in your regular routines. Shop Liz's list below, or you can head over to the MU·Picked Shop to browse more ideas.
Serena & Lily Oxford Striped Pajamas These broke me out of my habit of wearing old college t-shirts and PJ pants to bed. They happen to be sweet enough to be caught in mid-morning and so light that you feel great while slipping under the covers.
HeyDay This game changing quick skin care retreat is popping up all over New York. You can drop in or book same day for one of the best affordable facials I've gotten and the space carries a selection of clean and quality products.
Patchology Restoring Night Eye Gels After having my son, my under-eyes were never the same. I started looking for options and found these to be effective and efficient. I put them on after the shower, wait 5 minutes and look suddenly rested (and, I’ll let you in on a secret…I have my husband use them, too!).
Indie Lee Facial Oil Especially during the brutally cold winter months in New York, this oil keeps my skin hydrated and even-toned. It’s ideal for my sensitive skin that is prone to redness – it is also vegan and free of paraben and synthetic fragrance.
Slip Silk Eye Mask Very little feels more indulgent than a good night’s sleep. Though that isn’t realistic every night, nights with the Slip Silk Eye Mask actually do help me feel like I’ve had a quality rest. Bringing this on overnight flights is a must.
Club Monaco Cashmere Wrap I’m always cold on planes, so I don’t travel without this. I own it in 3 colors! It is warm, but not bulky like other sweater options, and incredibly chic (especially in the light heather grey!)
La Mer Crème De La Mer It's been a beauty industry favorite for decades but I just recently decided to try it….and I am obsessed. It is an ultra-rich cream and slightly heavier than what I am used to, so I tend to just use it only at night even though they recommend morning and evening. Also, warm it between your fingertips before you dap it on your face and neck!
Cire Trudon Candles My apartment is filled with these. The scents are bold and sexy. I love lighting them while I take a bath or read a book. My favorite scents are Abd el Kader and Byron.
Charlotte Tillbury Dry Masks My product-guru sister gave me these for my birthday, and they are amazing! It definitely felt odd putting on a mask that wasn’t wet. I didn’t think it would have the same hydrating and brightening results, but it did! And, better yet, you can use the same mask up to 3 times.
